(In which I go all comic book nerd and don't shut up about one of my new favourite superheroes.)
So, last week I finished the 36 issues that made up the most recent series of Blue Beetle, starring the third incarnation of the character, Jaime Reyes. I was so taken by the series that Jaime immediately slipped into my #2 spot of Favourite Superheroes (sorry, Deadpool - but then, there's a good argument that you shouldn't be in a "heroes" list at all.) Since I wanted to share my love of the character (and because it's been a week since I last posted anything) I decided to list the Top 5 reasons why I love Blue Beetle.
( Naturally, there are spoilers galore, so read on only if you don't mind that. )
My next step now will be going back and looking for the Ted Kord and Dan Garret Blue Beetle comics. It seems like the character has never really been able to catch a break in his own comic series, forced to stand in the background of more popular characters. But I really hope Jaime and the rest of the gang in El Paso get another chance to entertain and move readers as only the big blue bug can do.

So I'll probably write up something a bit more interesting at some point, but I figured I should at least update the good people of Livejournal on how things are going with me. As per usual, that would be not a lot, but I suppose that's better than announcing I have leprosy, or something.
I'm a few pages away from finishing a feature length fantasy script I've been working on for a few months, and I'm finding it very hard to get the motivation to write. Right now I'm managing maybe a page a day, which is better than nothing. The easiest thing to do, as William Goldman once said, is not write, so I should be thankful for small mercies. I suppose, having had this script in my life for so long, I'm just subconsciously worrying about finishing it and moving on to something else, plus the more than necessary second draft. That may explain my reluctance to finish it.
Better news, however, as I've finally added a bunch of new designs to my shop Forever Fifteen. Cough up a few bucks and buy something, why don't ya?
All designs are in the "Movies" section. The first came to me after discovering you can buy exact replicas of the Batman suit from The Dark Knight, complete with spines on the arms: http://www.cafepress.com/foreverfifteen/6 823167
The second is inspired by this awesome LJ icon: http://www.cafepress.com/foreverfifteen/6 823196
I like to say it as if I'm Dr Weird from Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
And finally, I made up this last one because I'm taking it back: http://www.cafepress.com/foreverfifteen/6 823207
That is all. Later.

With less than a week to go before the worldwide premiere of Watchmen, and since I haven't posted a blog in a month, I present to you Watchmen-related items aplenty.

Since I have ten minutes to kill and seemingly nothing better to do, I might as well let you know what I've been up to over the last week.
First of all, I've been salivating over the thought of the Watchmen movie, coming next March. Having seen the trailer and watched it far too many times for my own good, I have my fingers crossed and remain hopeful that Zack Snyder did all right by the book.
( The trailer, if you haven't already seen it. And how could you have missed it!? )
I've been busy making videos of my own. OK, one video of my own. As the beautiful
kiji_kat has already mentioned, I've started a new series of videos in which i riff on some of the most overblown, ridiculous and absolutely brilliant music videos ever. Never before have one man's snarky comments provided such mirth!
Except that one other time.
( Check it out behind the cut, if you're interested and/or find Metallica hilarious. )
One last thing - I've finally added a new design to Forever Fifteen. Inspired by some right wing blogger's comments, I came up with this.
You may or may not see t-shirts ont hat page. Stupid internets trying to destroy everything I create!
Um, well, it's after five so I'm outta here. See ya.

As always, I felt a need to share such things.
It takes a very special kind of person to realise the comedy potential found in pairing an Austrian psychoanalyst with a bunny.
